Druim na Sgriodain

A long heathery ridge rising directly above the Corran Narrows on the Ardgour side, looking straight across to the Ben Nevis range. The summit gives the best low-level view of Nevis in Lochaber — better than anywhere on the main A82.

14km · 602m ascent · 3.8 hrs

From the Corran Ferry slip walk south along the road and take the stalkers' path up Coire Dubh. Climb the north-east ridge to the broad summit. Many walkers continue along the ridge to Sgurr nan Cnamhan for a fuller traverse.

Terrain

Stalkers' track for the first half, then heather and broken rock. The ridge itself is wide and grassy with occasional outcrops — easy walking but exposed to westerlies.

In winter

Snow lies in patches and the burns ice up quickly. The Corran Ferry runs through winter but can be cancelled in storms — plan an alternative route home via Fort William if the wind picks up.

This hill is in the Glen Coe SAIS forecast area. Check SAIS forecasts in winter (December–April).
