Our take
Invermallie is the family bothy. Short walk-in, river for paddling, fireplace, and enough space for kids to spread out. If you want to introduce children to bothies, this is the one.
Getting there
From Mile Dorcha car park, follow the track west along the River Mallie. Flat, easy walking through beautiful woodland. Allow 1–1.5 hours.

What to expect inside
Spacious MBA bothy with two rooms, fireplace and sleeping platforms for 6. One of the better-maintained and more comfortable bothies. The river setting is attractive.
Nearby hills & attractions
Dark Mile (Mile Dorcha) — a beautiful tree-lined avenue. Loch Arkaig is scenic. The Bonnie Prince Charlie connection is strong in this area.
When to visit
Accessible year-round on good tracks. The sheltered woodland provides cover in bad weather. Popular with families due to the short, easy walk-in.
