Beinn na Lap
Beinn na Lap (935m) — "dappled hill" — is a broad whaleback Munro on the north shore of Loch Ossian, uniquely reached only by the West Highland Line train to Corrour Station. The hill is the most accessible of the Corrour Munros despite its remoteness, with a short direct ascent from the station. The summit gives commanding views across Rannoch Moor and out to the Grey Corries.

Standard route

Travel by ScotRail train on the West Highland Line to Corrour Station (limited timetable — check before booking). From the station walk east along the access track for about 1km, then turn north and climb the broad south ridge of Beinn na Lap straight to the summit cairn. Reverse the line for the return. About 10km return with 570m of ascent — a short Munro day with the train timing as the main planning consideration.
Terrain
The Corrour Station access track is firm landrover surface. Beinn na Lap's south ridge climbs broad heather and short grass on a faint braided line — easy walking. A small cairn sits at the high point of a flat broad summit with sweeping views. The descent reverses the line back to the station; train timing is critical.
In winter
A reasonably accessible winter Munro by Corrour standards. The Corrour train service is limited and weather-dependent in winter; missed trains cause real problems. The broad summit takes on heavy drift but rarely creates avalanche-prone ground. Mobile reception is absent throughout; SAIS Lochaber applies.
