A short, accessible walk through the dramatic basalt landscape of the Trotternish peninsula to the 295m summit. The low altitude and gentle gradients make this achievable in 1-3 hours.
Terrain
Skye terrain: basalt columns, peat bog and rough grass. More demanding than mainland hills of similar height.
In winter
Winter on Skye is dominated by Atlantic storms. Snow cover is patchy. The main hazards are wind and the slippery basalt rock.
