Our take
Nevis Range is in a different league for downhill riding — the gondola uplift takes you to the top of the World Cup track, one of the hardest on the circuit. The XC loops are underrated and worth a full day in their own right. June World Cup weekend is an essential pilgrimage.
Insider tips
Book the gondola in advance in high season. The Red Giant XC loop is the best all-rounder. The Top Chief DH track is the one you've seen on World Cup coverage.
Accommodation
Fort William has a lot of accommodation. Ben Nevis Inn and Glen Nevis YH are popular with riders.
Food
Base station cafe is decent. Fort William for restaurants and shops.
