Our take

Comrie Croft is the best independent trail venue in Scotland. The hand-built singletrack is more natural-feeling and more technically interesting than a lot of the 7stanes — there's proper rock, proper drops, and a couple of the black-graded lines that will challenge any competent intermediate. The cafe is excellent and you can stay on site in kata-tents. Worth planning a weekend around.

Insider tips

Stay on site in a kata-tent for the full weekend experience. The black trails are harder than their grade suggests — warm up on the red first. Cafe shuts earlier than you might expect in shoulder seasons.

Accommodation

On-site kata-tents, eco-hostel and camping. Comrie village has pubs and B&Bs.

Food

Excellent on-site cafe with proper food and Fair Trade coffee. Comrie village for extras.
