Our take
Bendronaig is the bothy that makes you wonder why all bothies can't be this good. Multiple rooms, a fireplace that works, and a roof that doesn't leak. Use it as a base for Lurg Mhor and Bidein a' Choire Sheasgaich — two Munros that are awkward from any other direction.
Getting there
From Attadale on the A890, follow the stalkers path east over the hills. Good path with some ascent. Allow 2.5–3 hours. Alternative approach from Glen Elchaig.
Nearest parking: Attadale on the A890
What to expect inside
Large former lodge with multiple rooms, fireplace and sleeping space for 8+. Significantly more comfortable than most bothies. Well-maintained by the MBA.
Nearby hills & attractions
Lurg Mhor (986m) and Bidein a' Choire Sheasgaich (945m) are accessible from here — two of Scotland's most remote Munros. The Falls of Glomach are to the north.
When to visit
Deer stalking season (August–October) is active in this area — check with the Attadale estate before visiting. The lodge provides genuine shelter in bad weather.
