The Golfie (Innerleithen Naturals)

The Golfie is the unofficial network of natural hand-built enduro descents on Minch Moor above Innerleithen — a separate, mostly unmarked world from the official 7stanes trail centre, maintained by the Tweed Valley Trails Association and the local riding community.

Our take

The Golfie is the reason the Tweed Valley is the enduro capital of the UK. Dozens of hand-built descents cut into the hillside above Innerleithen, many of which host enduro world cup rounds and most of which are the best natural-style riding in Scotland. It is not a trail centre — there is no signage, no facilities, and no official map. You either ride with a local or you pay for a guide. Do not head up here on your first Tweed Valley visit.

Insider tips

Ride with somebody who knows the trails — maps are unofficial and change with build seasons. Tweed Valley Trails Association accepts donations — the trails are entirely volunteer-built. Dirt School in Peebles runs guided Golfie days for visitors.

Accommodation

Innerleithen or Peebles for accommodation — same as the main 7stanes venue.

Food

No facilities on the hill. Innerleithen village for post-ride food and beer.
