Our take
Beecraigs is an Edinburgh commuter-belt family venue rather than a destination trail centre. The trails are gentle fire-road and easy singletrack, perfect for kids' first proper forest rides. Serious riders will find it tame. For a first-time family day, it's as good as anywhere on the west side of Edinburgh.
Insider tips
Weekends get busy with families — come midweek for space. The red squirrel hide is worth a detour if you have kids with you.
