Our take
Innerleithen is where you go once Glentress has taught you how to ride. The downhill tracks are world-class — several rounds of the UCI World Cup have been held here — and the uplift makes a full day of DH runs both possible and ruinously addictive. The natural enduro trails are some of the best in the UK.
Insider tips
Book uplift ahead for weekends. The Caddon Bank descent is the classic. Wednesday evening uplift in summer is the best value riding in the UK.

Innerleithen has the Traquair Arms and multiple B&Bs. Peebles (10 min) has more options.

The Traquair Arms for food and beer. Local bakery for pies pre-ride.

Pair with
Glentress day 1 for mileage and progression, Innerleithen day 2 for uplift and proper descents. The definitive Scottish MTB weekend.
