Fife Coastal Path · Overnight stop
Accommodation in St Monans
Between Elie and Pittenweem, on the East Neuk coast.
Off the standard stage schedule · Off-schedule stop
The smallest of the East Neuk harbour villages, with its kirk sitting almost in the sea and a tidal pool below it. Quieter than Anstruther or Crail, and correspondingly thinner on beds.
Not a stage end. A short hop from either neighbour, which makes it a useful overflow stop.
What is actually in St Monans
B&Bs and holiday lets. A small supply, mostly self-catering.
How far ahead to book
Four months in high season, and expect minimum-stay rules on the self-catering stock.
When it is full
Pittenweem is 2km on and Elie 5km back. The villages here are close enough to walk between in under an hour.
Getting there, and getting out
No railway. Coast-road buses between Leven and St Andrews.
Camping
Access code applies; the coast is farmland and village. Not a practical wild-camping stretch.
Food and resupply
Minimal — a shop and a pub. Resupply at Anstruther.
