Fife Coastal Path · Overnight stop
Accommodation in Pittenweem
Between St Monans and Anstruther, on the East Neuk coast.
Off the standard stage schedule · Off-schedule stop
Still a working fishing harbour, which is rarer on this coast than the postcards suggest. The August arts festival opens private houses as galleries and takes the village's entire bed stock with it.
Not a stage end. A common overflow stop, and busy in its own right during the arts festival in August.
What is actually in Pittenweem
B&Bs and holiday lets around the harbour and up the brae.
How far ahead to book
Four to six months in high season, and much earlier for the arts festival week in August — that is the one time this village behaves like a scarcity page.
When it is full
Anstruther is 2km on with far more beds. St Monans is 2km back.
Getting there, and getting out
No railway. Coast-road buses.
Camping
Access code applies; the same enclosed-coast problem as the rest of the East Neuk.
Food and resupply
A shop and pubs. Anstruther, ten minutes on, is the better stop for food.
