A short, accessible walk through the Galloway Forest Park or open moorland to the 357m summit. The low altitude and gentle gradients make this achievable in 1-3 hours.
Terrain
Mixed terrain through forest and over open moor. The granite geology gives good drainage on the higher ground.
In winter
Galloway winters are mild, influenced by the Gulf Stream. Snow is rare below 500m. These are among the most accessible winter hills in Scotland.
