See Morris Hill

See Morris Hill is a 240m knoll on the NX-grid moors west of Dalbeattie, an unusual little Marilyn known mostly to dedicated baggers. Despite its low height, the prominence pushes it onto the official list.

Park in Dalbeattie Forest and follow waymarked forest paths before cutting up to the small summit clearing. An hour and a quarter is plenty for an out-and-back outing.

Terrain

Forest rides and felled patches with short rough vegetation on the summit knoll itself. Bracken can be thick in summer.

In winter

A no-fuss winter target with sheltered approaches. Forest paths can be muddy after thaw but rarely truly icy.
