Cipeagal Bheag [Cipeagil Bheag] [Ciopeagal Bheag]

Cipeagal Bheag — the little Cipeagal — is a 336m gneiss top on the south coast of the Pairc peninsula, paired with the higher Cipeagal Mor across a narrow bealach. Despite the name it has more prominence than its neighbour and qualifies as a Marilyn in its own right.

Gaelic: “small” · Pronunciation: cipeagal vek [cipeagil bheag] [ciopeagal bheag]

A 14-16km pathless round from Eishken takes 6-7 hours, often combined with Caiteseal on a longer day. The summit ridge is short but rewarding, with views southeast to the Shiants.

Terrain

Typical Pairc gneiss-and-peat country, with steeper outcrop bands as the summit ridge is gained. Sea cliffs lie south of the top; keep back of the edge in mist.

In winter

Wind exposure on the ridge and the cliff edge are the winter problems rather than snow. Aim for a clear day to enjoy the southerly seaward views.
