Standard route
Standard route
A short, accessible walk via quiet forestry tracks in the hills of Dumfries and Galloway to the 367m summit. The low altitude and gentle gradients make this achievable in 1-3 hours.
Terrain
Forestry tracks and open moorland. The Galloway hills can be surprisingly boggy despite the gentle appearance.
In winter
Galloway winters are mild, influenced by the Gulf Stream. Snow is rare below 500m. These are among the most accessible winter hills in Scotland.
