Roughly 2km off the Way between Inverarnan and Tyndrum, reached by a marked descent from the trail.

A junction village where the West Highland Line splits for Oban and Fort William. Not scenic, and not really a trail village — its value is that it has a railway station, which makes it the most useful non-scenic place on the route.
Off-route, and used as an overnight mainly on longer schedules or when Tyndrum is full. It is also where a good many walks quietly end.
What is actually in Crianlarich
Hotels, B&Bs and a hostel. More beds than the villages either side, and less competition for them because it costs you a detour.
How far ahead to book
Weeks rather than months outside July and August. This is the release valve for the middle of the route and it is worth remembering when everything else is gone.
When it is full
Tyndrum is 8km further and has considerably more capacity. Or take the train one stop and come back in the morning.
Getting there, and getting out
On the West Highland Line, with trains to Glasgow, Oban and Fort William. **The single best bail-out point on the route** — if the walk is not working, this is where to stop without a logistical problem.
Camping
Outside the permit zones. Wild camping under the access code applies, though the glen here is enclosed farmland in places, so look further out rather than nearer the village.
