Broughton Heights — summit Pyked Stane Hill at 571m — is the broad NT-prefix ridge that rises north of Broughton village in upper Tweeddale. The summit plateau is generous and the views span the Pentlands, Culter Fell and the Cheviot foothills.

From Broughton village a track climbs onto Hammer Head, then traverses several rounded tops along the ridge before reaching the trig point. A 12-14km horseshoe takes around 4-5 hours.
Terrain
Sheep-cropped Tweeddale grass with fence lines for navigation, a few peaty hollows between summits, and short heather on the higher plateau.
In winter
Mild Tweeddale conditions in most winters. The exposed ridge holds powdery snow that drifts heavily into the leeward gullies — pick a settled day for the full traverse.
