Our take
Glenuig is the West Highland coastal bothy — shoreline setting, easy walk-in, and the kind of west-coast sunsets that the Highlands are famous for. Combine with the Rois-Bheinn ascent and a ferry trip to the Small Isles for a fine long weekend.

Stalking season / estate access
Estate manages stalking — minimal impact on coastal-path access.
What to expect inside
Single main room with a fireplace and sleeping platforms for six. Maintained by the estate; cleaner than the typical bothy. Views from the door across Loch Ailort.
Nearby hills
Rois-Bheinn (882m, Corbett) is the principal hill — climbed from Glenuig village. The Sound of Arisaig and the Small Isles (Rum, Eigg, Muck) lie offshore. Easy day to Mallaig for an Inner Hebrides ferry trip.
When to visit
Mild coastal climate means it stays accessible year-round. Midges are exceptional in summer in this part of the West Coast — head net essential.
Wildfire risk — May to October
Dry conditions increase wildfire risk during summer. Never light fires in the open. Use the bothy fireplace only, and ensure it is fully out before you leave.
