From the car park
From the centre of Perth, cross the Tay on West Bridge Street (A85), continue up East Bridge Street, then turn right on Muirhall Road and follow it about 1.5 miles (2.5km) to the Jubilee car park (FLS route card). There is a regular bus from Perth if you would rather not drive.
The walk
Three waymarked trails leave the Jubilee car park, and the one people mean by "Kinnoull Hill" is the Tower Trail — 2 miles / 3.3km, allow 1 hour, "largely wide, firm gravel surface with slightly uneven parts", with "some steep slopes and a road crossing". It climbs to the Earl’s folly tower on the cliff edge above the Tay. The shorter Jubilee Trail is ¾ mile / 1.2km, allow half an hour, and stays below the summit; the Deuchny Trail is 3½ miles / 5.6km, allow 2½ hours, circling Deuchny Wood. Busy times
Busy in a local way rather than a tourist way — after work, weekend mornings, and any clear evening. It is Perth’s hill and it is a short walk from the town.
Getting here without a car
There is a regular bus service from Perth to Kinnoull Hill; Traveline Scotland has the current route and times. You can also simply walk it from Perth city centre, which is what the longer circuits assume.
Winter access
The gravel trails stay usable year-round and the road up Muirhall is normally clear. The cliff-edge sections near the tower are the thing to think about rather than the surface underfoot.
Overflow parking
Perth and Kinross Council car parks in the town, most obviously South Inch, put you at the foot of the hill and add a walk in through Branklyn. Those are charged where the Jubilee car park is not.

- Yes. Forestry and Land Scotland state plainly that there is no charge to park in the Jubilee car park. The council car parks down in Perth, such as South Inch, are charged.
- How long is the Kinnoull Hill walk?
