Our take
Learnie is a proper purpose-built trail centre in miniature. The red and black loops have real flow, genuine rock features and a couple of drops steep enough to take seriously. For a Highland venue this far north, the build quality is a pleasant surprise. Easily combined with Chanonry Point for a post-ride dolphin-spotting stop.
Insider tips
Combine with a visit to Chanonry Point for the dolphins — best on a rising tide. Cromarty village is a 10-minute detour and does good food.
Accommodation
Rosemarkie, Cromarty or Inverness (30 min) for accommodation.
Food
Nothing on site. Rosemarkie and Cromarty both have cafes and pubs.
When to ride
Pair with
Two compact Highland centres within 45 minutes of each other. Learnie for tight twisty singletrack, Contin for longer rolling forest trails.
