Park near Mangersta or Crowlista and strike east across open moorland, picking a line through the peat hags toward the rocky summit knoll. There is no path; expect rough ground but a manageable climb of two to three hours return.

Terrain

Pathless blanket bog with peat hags, lochans and outcrops of Lewisian gneiss. Drier on the final knoll where short heather and rock take over.

In winter

A low Atlantic hill so snow rarely lies, but gales, driving rain and short daylight make navigation hard. GPS or compass is essential in cloud.
