Ruin Dorcha combines a bothy night with 5,000 years of history. Walk through Kilmartin's standing stones and burial cairns on the way in, then sleep in the hills above. Scotland does not get more layered than this.

From Kilmartin village, follow tracks north then west into the hills. Allow 2 hours.

When to visit
Accessible year-round. The Argyll climate is mild and wet. The archaeological sites in the glen are fascinating in any season.
