Our take

Inbhir Fhaolain sits in Glen Etive with the Buachaille towering above — arguably the most dramatic setting of any easy-access bothy in Scotland. Walk in, look up, be impressed. The proximity to the A82 means it can be busy.

Getting there

From Dalness in Glen Etive, follow the path southwest along the River Etive. Good path. Allow 1–1.5 hours.

Nearest parking: A82 at Dalness in Glen Etive

What to expect inside

Spacious MBA bothy with two rooms, fireplace and space for 6. Popular due to the stunning Glen Etive setting and proximity to Glencoe.

Nearby hills & attractions

Buachaille Etive Mor (1,022m) — one of Scotland's most photographed mountains — rises to the north. Stob Dubh and Stob Coir an Albannaich are nearby.

When to visit

Popular year-round due to the short approach from Glen Etive. The A82 provides easy access. Winter conditions on the Buachaille are serious.
