Our take
The upper Feshie bothy is for those who want to go deeper. The lower bothy gets more visitors; continue south and you have the ancient pines largely to yourself. The Cairngorms plateau is above — cross the Moine Mhor for a through-route to Deeside.
Getting there
From Auchlean, follow the estate track south through Glen Feshie, continuing past the lower bothy. Allow 2–2.5 hours on good tracks.
Nearest parking: Achlean near Feshiebridge
What to expect inside
Estate bothy with fireplace and space for 6. Well-maintained. Deeper into the glen than the more popular lower bothy, offering more solitude.
Nearby hills & attractions
The Cairngorms plateau is accessible over the Moine Mhor. Glen Feshie rewilding project — Scots pine regeneration. River Feshie for wild swimming.
When to visit
Accessible year-round on good tracks. The upper glen is more sheltered than the plateau above. Deer stalking season — check with the estate.
